i think if someone makes game like this they really out to add

so that it doesnt seem too big in the beginning
>plot or some change in the world
so that the player gets excited or feels rewarded something has to change in the world itself or story needs to change or something shoujld happen in another world etc etc
like NPC1 being rescued and appearing in the hub
or pressing a lever to stop the flood in other world
kind of like how dark souls… again i dont like calling it by it

heres how id make a game like that

the main character is a Guardian a special spirit tasked with bringing humans who lost themselves in dreams to reality, but it is not revealed in game of yet. He locates different characters and helps them reach the surface by addressing their struggle and reason why they cant escape, to give them rest.

I am not good at long term programming and very long game design, because im alone. but im very good at genuine ideas for games like these.
