All the validation you get is from diehard doujin fans who’ve convinced themselves you’re on the same level as Mario or Master Chief. They’re wrong.

Millions of people will never know your name. You will never be in a Smash Bros roster. You’ll never stand on stage at The Game Awards. You’ll never get a triple-A remake, a Netflix adaptation, or even a proper anime with consistent production values. Your only legacy is being the face of a fanbase so insular it could be classified as a separate internet ecosystem.

You are not iconic. You are not known. You are not relevant.
You’re just a shrine maiden with a floating yin-yang orb, desperately clinging to two decades of cult status like it means something to anyone outside of the Touhou wiki.

Every time someone outside the fandom asks “Who’s that?” when they see your face, it chips away at the fantasy. You live in denial, roleplaying as a legend, coping by reposting fanart and remixes, hoping likes you. They won't.

You will never be on a lunchbox. You will never be on a Funko Pop. You will never be remembered by anyone who hasn’t spent hours deciphering 17 layers of lore just to understand your role in a game with no real dialogue.
